The tapestry of the life of a medically complex family

About

As a single mom to 4 kids, I live at Basekamp: Laundry Mountain. No matter the time you take, the effort you use, the laundry remains a mountain which grows like Hawaii. When the mountain depletes, there will be a run on preschoolers soiling bed linens, teens playing rugby or dogs sliding through mud to dash through the kitchen… You live with it; the laundry stands witness to the passage of time, the fullness of family life, the occurrence of more important things. This blog will chronicle the “more important things”: airway clinic, college move-in, adoption, dog or child antics & mayhem. My children are the sunshine of my life- their challenges & accomplishments the threads of our family tapestry. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the weave as it evolves.

Recently a friend has set up a fundraiser to help cover the costs which insurance cannot with regard to the care & feeding of my complex & beautiful kids. I realize many of us struggle but if you are able, even $5 pays for half a day’s specialized formula. Check out our fundraiser here: http://www.gofundme.com/complexfamily

*** Please be aware that posts sometimes chronicle the stressful or worrisome aspects of our lives. Know that our family is emotionally healthy & going strong but that writing is a great way for me to “think aloud” while I process or work to make a decision. I share these posts in order that other Moms/ families will not feel alone. I password protected some of my posts recently in response to an attack on a friend. I want these posts to be as open as I attempt to be. I realize this may open questions for my readers- if you have one, ASK. Be well & support each other. ***
